Product Details

Black entrepreneurship is often discussed through slogans, stereotypes, success stories, or complaints. The Black Business Reality Check Toolkit takes a different approach. It gives entrepreneurs a structured way to examine the business from every seat at the table, including the owner, customer, banker, accountant, employee, family member, professional practitioner, collaborator, lender, and marketplace.

This toolkit was developed from the three-hundred-sixty-degree framework taught in Mic’d Up Money Reloaded. It does not assume every business problem is discrimination, and it does not assume every business problem is the owner’s fault. Instead, the tools help users distinguish between documented structural barriers, operational weaknesses, financial problems, customer behavior, management failures, relationship pressure, and questionable advice.

The toolkit goes beyond motivation. It asks for evidence. Users are guided to compare tax returns, bank activity, third-party income records, invoices, point-of-sale data, owner withdrawals, liquidity patterns, customer payment timing, business-model functionality, employee and family-role competency, practitioner boundaries, procurement readiness, and more. Several tools are designed specifically to reveal problems that can remain hidden when owners focus only on revenue or sales.

It also addresses risks that are often discussed privately but rarely organized into practical business tools. These include customers deciding when they will pay, community discount expectations, scope creep, pressure on Black practitioners to make unethical or unsafe exceptions, disclosure of illegal activity that may force a practitioner to stop or withdraw, manufactured expert credibility, faith-based affinity pressure, knowledge hoarding, and the economic cost of weak collaboration.

This is not a blame tool. It is a diagnosis tool. The objective is to help the owner determine what is actually happening, what evidence supports the conclusion, what can be controlled, what requires outside professional help, and what should become the next ninety-day priority.
